Pam (Helm) Keegan - Born and raised in Fairfield, CT, Pam grew up in a Bible-believing Christian home and was saved at the age of 4. She was raised attending Black Rock Church in Fairfield, CT. From a young age, Pam has had a deep love for God and His word. She studied the bible at Word of Life Bible Inst. (1986/1987) and then transferred to Cedarville University for her education in Business Communications & Office Technology (1987-1990). Pam has served in many roles within the church, including women’s ministry, youth ministry, worship leader, bible studies, and Sunday School teacher, care ministries, and prayer ministries. In her 40s, Pam was called to serve at a startup church (Vox Church) and was part of the leadership team that launched their first location in Bridgeport, CT. It was through Vox Church that she met her husband. In 2018, at the age of 50, Pam married Jeff Keegan, who was the pastor of discipleship at Trinity Church (EFCA) in Woodbridge, CT. Jeff retired in June 2022, and they are currently attending Vox Church in Branford, CT, and enjoying their 9 wonderful grandchildren.
In her late 20s & early 30s, she started reading biographies of believers such as George Muller, John Westley, Hudson Taylor, DL Moody, Francis and Edith Schaffer, Eric Liddell, Jim Elliot etc. While reading about their lives, she saw patterns/disciplines displayed that she had never heard the church or Christian organizations speak about. Some of these disciplines included silence, solitude, set hours of prayer etc. She was intrigued. With no guidance or education regarding these disciplines, she started to practice silence & solitude as well as set times of reading & praying with extended silence & solitude retreats. Her goal: Give God her full attention and to be still in His presence. Sometimes, He spoke in profound ways. Other times, there was a sweetness of just being aware of God’s presence. The benefits of having done this over the years are too numerous to list. She knows her Savior intimately and, as a result, allows Him to become her bridegroom. In many ways, seeing God as her bridegroom is how she walked through her 50 years of singleness. It is also how she walked through some major trials, including being single, barren, and the death of several close loved ones. Pam hears God and sees God in ways she never knew possible because she has given Him her full attention.
In July 2023, Pam graduated from the Transforming Center (Wheaton, IL), where she studied and practiced Spiritual Formation. Pam’s desire is to show others how to create a platform to be still and know God intimately. Her desire is to be grounded in Scripture and share with others what she has learned over the years through sacred rhythms – as the Center states, “reclaim practices and experiences that spiritual seekers down through the ages have used to open themselves to God’s transforming work.” Most of what Pam shares has been discovered through her own personal sacred rhythms; however, she would be remiss not to give Ruth Haley Barton credit for the foundation of her content.
Pam served on the board of Hopeline Pregnancy Resource Center and is currently a Board Member for In Soccer Outreach, a missionary organization in Vienna, Austria, that uses soccer to evangelize the lost. She also serves on the Board of the Evangelical Free Church of America's New England District Association (NEDA), as well as serves on the leadership team for the NEDA Ministry to Women.
Pam speaks on an array of topics and can tailor her talks to specific needs.
